Meet Carson from New Zealand who has been living in Sydney for the last year.

How did you become vegan?

I became vegan after watching a few documentaries on animal cruelty (Farm to Fridge) and slowly lost my dependence on meat after a few weeks (a day off meat, then two days, then half a week etc)

What is the most common question you have to answer about veganism and how do you answer it?

How do you live without _______? I thought I would miss it but after knowing where it’s come from I lost my appetite. 

What is your favourite quick to fix vegan snack?

I love nuts, stone fruit and toast!

I like to have a raw breakfast to get my glucose levels up for the day which is usually a smoothie bowl.

What is your favourite vegan place?

Kindness Cafe in Sydney is soooo nice.

What is your favourite vegan product?

Dr. Bronner’s peppermint castile soap is so good and has the cool feeling toothpaste has on your face.

Please share your favourite tips on vegan cooking?

Preparation is key. It takes a while to prepare everything but once it’s in the pan it’s pretty much ready

No.

Smoothie
  • 4 Bananas
  • 1/2 an Avocado
  • 1.5 Kiwi Fruit
  • 1 tablespoon of Chia Seeds
  • 1 Oranges
  • 4 Dates
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 250ml of Soy Milk
Topping
  • 1 tablespoon of crushed Peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon of Chia Seeds
  • 1 sliced Banana
  • 1/2 a Kiwi Fruit (sliced)
  • 1/2 an Avocado
